The ontology release criteria is a compilation of the rules and artifacts that constitute the release of an ontology (or versioned ontology module). The criteria play a key role in the various processes for planning, verifying, testing and releasing the deliverables for an ontology, and less about what an ontology developer or agent does – which is described separately under the individual processes mentioned. Furthermore, a clear distinction is made in the wording describing a criteria or artifact as to whether it is a required element (“must”) or a desired one (“should”).

NOTE: For now, the release criteria and artifacts are imported to this page as a MS Word document with comment and revisions tracked. Once they are adopted, we’ll probably update this page and copy in the details to the Wiki page.
